Parm part 2

Chicken parm sandwich, calamari with peppers, egg and salami toast (capital LOVE), baked ziti, and veggie sides! Sat at the bar this time. Next time, tables again - not enough leg room!

Parm

We went to Parm after work yesterday, and talked about the joys of Fridays. The waitress was great, the table was tiny but cute, and the $5 vegetable sides were very very good.

I got a Saratoga club sandwich, with chicken salad, maple cured bacon, and chips on perfectly toasted toast. Kevin got a turkey sandwich on a semolina roll. We shared brussels sprouts and spicy rabe, and started with a few clams. The only thing I'd change? No dressing on the clams please, lemon only.

And dessert! Homemade tricolor ice cream cake with pistachio, strawberry, and chocolate.

All that and 3 beers: $76

Sentosa, a Flushing favorite

Seafood Tom Yum soup with rice noodles, Nasi Lamak with coconut rice, and Ong Choy veggies with spicy sauce. In your face flavor all around. Also, a rare ice cold Tsing Dao.

previously. Blue Hill at Stone Barns, november 2011

Part 1.

We drove here for an early seating time and found the place empty but for the two of us. As the meal progressed and the sun set over the dining room, I looked up and all of a sudden every table in the room was filled and there were more than a dozen waitstaff and runners bustling and hustling. I loved the large display of farm fresh produce, and the few minutes our waitress took to bring a basket of mushrooms over to the table to explain their provenance and harvest.

I think the farm could be quite gorgeous in summer, and I've quite the affinity for open-sky courtyards.
